Thursday marks the first day of autumn. Along with the reduced sunlight, the changing leaves, the first frost, and pumpkin entering nearly every consumable product also comes a new and exciting wave of fall shows in Milwaukee. Just because festival season has drawn to a conclusion and the entertainment has moved indoors, the city isn’t exactly packing it in. Between stacked local release shows, a heft of touring musicians, hilarious (and controversial) comedians, and one-off events like the inaugural Beet Street Harvest Festival and the AM/FM pop-up bar, there’s no shortage of things happening to make this autumn one for the books.
To help run down the list of fall shows, host Tyler Maas was joined by busy Milwaukee freelancer Joey Grihalva. The frequent 88Nine, Urban Milwaukee, and Wisconsin Gazette entertainment writer came by Milwaukee Record headquarters and the guys talked about what they’re looking forward to this coming season. (Note: We’ve discovered that a microphone issue makes it difficult to hear Joey at some points of the episode. We apologize for the inconvenience)
