Since its formation in 2021, The Steph Lippert Project has been a Milwaukee music mainstay, playing shows all around the city on a regular basis and being a fixture on local festival lineups. As prolific as the project helmed by singer and multi-instrumentalist Steph Lippert has been in a live music capacity, the group’s recorded output has been extremely limited to this point.
In fact, apart from putting out a song and accompanying music video in late 2022, Lippert and company have been pretty much silent in terms of recordings. That silence was finally broken this week with the release of a long-awaited single from The Steph Lippert Project. “Here Again” is a dreamy, and tender composition that has the makings of something you’d hear in a dark and smokey lounge. Over a span of 4:38, Lippert’s smooth vocals intermingle with delicate instrumentation to exude an air of warmth and emotion.
