Back in January, we introduced you to VLNTYN—self-described “dark indie rock” band fronted by Milwaukee singer/songwriter Jorge Vallentine—through covering the project’s lead single, “Swimming In The Sun.” Since that aural introduction, VLNTYN has played a handful of shows and sporadically released eight more standalone singles that ably touch different genres while adhering to the underlying theme of darkness.

This week, the band’s catalog will grow and continue its sonic evolution with the release of “My Limit.” VLNTYN’s latest single delves energetically into garage rock territory, as Vallentine’s jangly guitar licks and sneering vocals are paired with blistering guitar solos by Ryan Schmidt (who also recorded, mixed, and mastered the track in addition to playing bass on it) and Zac Anderson’s propulsive percussion. The song channels Arctic Monkeys with a dash of Queens Of The Stone Age thrown in for good measure.

Before the song hits on all streaming platforms on Tuesday, August 19, enjoy an exclusive first listen of VLNTYN’s “My Limit” below.
