We’ve said it before, but it still holds true: There’s nothing slow about Slow Walker. Since the band’s 2011 start, they’ve averaged one album or EP per year. Their continually-expanding catalog is full of fast and energetic tunes that straddle the line between garage rock and psych, and those songs are regularly put on display throughout Milwaukee when Slow Walker plays out. Perhaps you saw them at Mitten Fest on Saturday…or at Frank’s Power Plant later that same night.

The band’s admirable output hasn’t impacted the song quality whatsoever. If anything, the extra reps only serve to make Slow Walker sound better with each new record. That trend seems likely to continue when the hard-working rock and roll outfit releases Ah Yes in March. Before the full-length—and one of two releases the band is planning to put out this year—comes out, Slow Walker wants prepare listeners for what’s in store with “Ride.”

The riffy single is rife with chunky guitar licks, driving percussion, and the band’s trademark dual vocal assault. If the rest of album is anywhere near as good as “Ride,” you’re in for a treat. Before Ah Yes is released on March 30 via Holy Family Players Theatre, listen to “Ride” now, only on Milwaukee Record.
