It is happening again. Perhaps for the final time.

On Saturday, October 17, The Argo in Whitefish Bay will be transformed into the Roadhouse in Twin Peaks for Inside A Dream: The Music Of David Lynch. A 10-piece band will pay tribute to the legendary film director and artist by performing songs and scores from some of his most iconic creations: Eraserhead, Blue Velvet, Twin Peaks, Mulholland Drive, and more. Singers will sing pretty songs (including Roy Orbison’s “In Dreams”), and there will always be music in the air…

Inside A Dream is the brainchild of by barber-by-day, Lynch-inspired-musician-and-filmmaker-by-night Aiden White. White and company have mounted Inside A Dream five times since 2022—twice at The Cooperage, twice at Madison’s High Noon Saloon, and once at Turner Hall Ballroom. The Argo show is being billed as the final installment. It will also be the first Inside A Dream since Lynch’s death in January 2025.

“We didn’t end up doing a show the year he passed, not necessarily for a lack of wanting to, but I felt like I needed to take a break,” White says. “It never felt right that we just left it where it was without doing one last tribute.”

White is a Milwaukee High School of the Arts alumnus who has played with groups like Dead Man’s Carnival, Sweet Sheiks, and The Westerlees. He also happens to be a self-described “crazed Lynch fan.”

“I fell in love with Twin Peaks back in early high school,” White said in 2022, ahead of the first Inside A Dream. “I also remember a copy of Blue Velvet sitting in my mom’s VHS collection growing up, so it’s always kind of been a part of my life in some ways. I started writing and directing films when I was younger, and Lynch has been one of the biggest influences for me in recent years with the work I’ve done.”

The Argo show will be an expanded and reimagined version of previous Inside A Dream installments. There will be new music and, yes, even puppetry. Like someone once said, it could all be different.

“Let’s face it, I could literally go through hours of different song choices from all the films and from Twin Peaks,” White says. “So there are some things I wanted to touch on music-wise that I didn’t get a chance to before. I wanted to change it up, add some new material.”

Those changes will extend to the overall presentation as well. White says the addition of an opening band—dark-synth project Vermes—will give the night a more theatrical and immersive feel.

“The musicians we have opening for us, they’re big David Lynch fans in their own right, but they also have some really interesting instrumental, original music that I think fits very well with the overall theme of the night,” White says. “I also wanted to have a little bit more of a Roadhouse feel, with multiple musical groups.”

The Argo itself will play a part in Inside A Dream. The Whitefish Bay venue opened in December 2025 in the former Fox Bay Theater.

“The Argo is a really cool venue in its own right, and it’s really appropriate that it used to be a movie theater,” White says. “The lounge area is a really vibe-y place. It feels very much in line with the overall feel that we’re going for, and gives us opportunities to really decorate the space and make it extra special.”

Though White says he’ll “never say never” to another installment of Inside A Dream, he’s using The Argo show as a chance to not only step back and focus on his own filmmaking endeavors, but to properly send off a wildly original and influential artist.

“I honestly love David Lynch, and I feel there’s an itch I needed to scratch as far as exploring his art and being able to celebrate that with a bunch of other people,” White says. “I wanted to do at least one last show, just to close a chapter and pay our last respects to someone we all really loved.”

Inside A Dream: The Music Of David Lynch will take over The Argo on Saturday, October 17. Everyone who chants out between two worlds and purchases a pre-sale ticket will be automatically entered to win a special merch package, complete with a replica of a Twin Peaks Saturn lamp.
