And then there were 16! Following two “March Sadness: The Promise Ring Song Bracket” rounds that found approximately 12,000 total votes being cast, our hand-selected field of 64 compositions by The Promise Ring has been reduced to just 16 songs. Round 2 featured a couple close calls, a bunch of blowouts, and pretty much every favored song advancing. The herd is thinning, so things are going to get very exciting!
Much like the first two rounds, the songs have been separated into the following album-based regions: 30 Degrees Everywhere, Nothing Feels Good, Very Emergency, and Wood/Water. Some regions also feature standalone songs released by The Promise Ring and material from EPs or compilations. (Seeding was determined by the number of Spotify streams each song had when this bracket was created.)
Round 3 started March 18 and runs through March 21. Subsequent rounds will take place March 22-25, March 26-28, and the winner will be determined after a final round that runs March 29-30. Vote early and vote as many times as you’d like. Round 3 of “March Sadness: The Promise Ring Song Bracket” (and a JPG of the bracket itself) can be found below!
