Bleak times, right? Miserable, grueling, humiliating, soul-deadening times. Well, at least it’s Friday. And at least there’s a new Milwaukee thrash-metal project called Thunderkill to provide the perfect soundtrack to these near-apocalyptic end days. (Fridays and weekends not included.)
Thunderkill is the latest metal mutation from prolific Milwaukee musician Keith D (Arctic Sleep, Unearthed Elf, Panda Kingdom). It’s a long-distance group, too; on the project’s beautifully brutal debut record Global Cataclysm, D is not only joined by Nick Smalkowski of Arctic Sleep, but Miny of Argentina-based group Post20. Here’s Miny in action:

And here’s Global Cataclysm! D describes it as “heavily influenced by old-school Metallica, Megadeth, Anthrax, Nuclear Assault, Testament, etc.” He also notes that the LP “features stunning REAL artwork by renowned extreme metal artist Timbul Cahyono. It’s a dude in a toxic waste dump getting totally fried by a bolt of lightning!” Hell yeah.
Happy Friday, folks. Happy End Times. Happy Global Cataclysm Release Day.
