The last time we checked in with Arctic Sleep (way back in 2014), the progressive/atmospheric metal band had released its sixth full-length album, Passage Of Gai. That album, we said at the time, boasted songs “that are as heavy and epically sized as they are gorgeous, and that contain just as many nods to Alice In Chains and Pink Floyd as they do to Dream Theater and Tool.” “No one in Milwaukee is making metal quite like this,” we concluded, “and no one in Milwaukee has been making metal like this for so long.” We stand by those words.

Now, four long years later, Arctic Sleep is prepping the release of its seventh full-length album, Kindred Spirits. But that’s not all: A Kickstarter campaign has been set up to not only release the record on vinyl, but to fund “limited-edition Arctic Sleep coffee beans by Anodyne Coffee Roasters.” Outsized cinematic metal and Milwaukee-brewed coffee, together at last.

Here’s what Arctic Sleep multi-instrumentalist Keith D says about the unusual perk:

Arctic Sleep has partnered with Anodyne Coffee Roasters in Milwaukee, WI to release a limited-edition batch of coffee beans for our Kickstarter rewards. You read that right… “Arctic Sleep – Kindred Spirits Blend” (16oz bag) will only be available this ONCE. I’m a coffee fanatic and have been a regular customer of Anodyne for almost 10 years now, and I think they’re one of the best roasters in the country… You do not want to miss out on this. And yes, Kickstarter packs with the coffee will also get a MUG to go along with it!

With six days to go, the Kickstarter campaign has raised more than $6,000 of its all-or-nothing $7,500 goal. As for the album itself, take a sip below:
