If the name Chit Chat doesn’t ring a bell in your Milwaukee music brain, you can hardly be blamed. It’s been nearly four years since the trio of Harrison Colby, Carmella D’Acquisto, and Jeremy Ault released their sole single, “age/sex/location.” But ahead of a planned 2026 full-length, Chit Chat has risen from the great beyond and dropped a great new single, “Love In A Graveyard.” Just in time for the Halloween/graveyard-lovin’ season!
“‘Love In A Graveyard’ was inspired by everyone’s favorite vampire slayer, Buffy Summers,” Chit Chat explains. “Written after a binge of the seminal ’90s teen drama, ‘Love In A Graveyard’ is about a lovesick person who, after striking out in the local dating scene, turns to the undead to find love.” Oh, who among us can’t relate? (Also pairs well with I Saw The TV Glow!)
The song is a winner, a dreamy and seemingly effortless earworm that will be familiar to fans of Colby’s former groups NO/NO and The Delphines. Plus, the lyrics (by D’Acquisto) are bone-dry hilarious: “No more going to bars or going on blind dates / Just gotta drive up to the graveyard gates”? Perfection. “I was getting used to going home alone / Now I got a date underneath a headstone”? Perfection again. Listen to the song below:
