Last Thursday, we announced we would be hosting a special screening of A League Of Their Own at Avalon Theater on Wednesday, August 21. Apparently, we chose wisely because it sold out in just four days. If missed your chance to get tickets to that showing, you’re in luck. We’ve added a second screening the following night. This one—also at Avalon Theater—will take place on Thursday, August 22. Once again, the start time is 7 p.m. and admission is $5. Tickets are on sale now.

In case you missed last week’s announcement, here’s some info about this Penny Marshall-directed sports comedy classic.

“The 1992 baseball blockbuster follows the Rockford Peaches, a real-life team that played in the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League during World War II. Led by star catcher Dottie Hinson (played by Geena Davis) and disgruntled former big leaguer-turned-manager Jimmy Dugan (Tom Hanks), the Peaches travel the Midwest as they take on the likes of the Racine Belles, Kenosha Comets, and South Bend Blue Sox. Joining that potent battery of leading actors is an all-star supporting cast that consists of Lori Petty, Madonna, Rosie O’Donnell, Jon Lovitz, Bill Pullman, and many more.

Sounds pretty good, right? As always, our teammates at Lakefront Brewery will have some delicious beers on draft. We’ll see you there!
