Milwaukee is chock full of things to do, but only a handful of Milwaukee events are worthy of the lofty honor of “Record Recommended” (patent pending). Here are our recommendations for July 6-12, 2026, brought to you by Wynk.
MONDAY, JULY 6
Musical Mondays: De La Buena @ Lake Park Summer Stage
Milwaukee summers are absolutely stuffed with outdoor music series. (Need proof? Here you go!) But none of those outdoor music series are quite as cozy—or quite as eclectic—as Musical Mondays. The free summertime series takes place on the Lake Park Summer Stage, near the playground, throughout July and August. The fun kicks off this week with Milwaukee summertime staple De La Buena. Oh, and the Traveling Beer Garden will be at Lake Park, too!
Bluegrass Whatevers @ Ope! Brewing Co.
TUESDAY, JULY 7
Chill On The Hill: Social Cig + Diet Lite @ Humboldt Park
It seems like it’s been the Year of Social Cig ever since Parker Schultz and his scrappy indie-rock outfit packed Turner Hall Ballroom last September for an instant-classic show celebrating the release of Patchwork: A Road Dog Story. The title of that album is appropriate—Social Cig has indeed spent much of the last few years on the road. The group is staying closer to home for this installment of Chill On The Hill, which, yep, includes equally beloved and busy Milwaukee indie-rock band Diet Lite! The latter group released its latest album, Double Wide Yukon, last November.
Wic Whitney + Zach Lloyd, VLNTYN @ X-Ray Arcade
WEDNESDAY, JULY 8
Washington Park Wednesdays: Ladies Must Swing + Ellie Jackson @ Washington Park Bandshell
If the kickoff of Musical Mondays and the ongoing Chill On The Hill weren’t enough park-based music series for you this week, may we suggest the first 2026 installment of Washington Park Wednesdays? Tonight’s “Venus Rising” show will feature Madison’s Ladies Must Swing and Milwaukee’s own Ellie Jackson. (Jackson’s latest single, “American Dream,” is sublime.) The fun takes place at the Washington Park Bandshell and gets underway at 6 p.m. Art, food trucks, and other activities begin at 5 p.m.
Body Futures + Resurrectionists, Vile Bees, The Flavor That Kills @ X-Ray Arcade
“We’re definitely a little more bummed out than we were the last time.” That’s Dixie Jacobs, keyboardist/autoharpist/singer for Body Futures. Past Body Futures records have found the group delivering squirrel-y and shout-y noise/power-pop that suggests a more irritable New Pornographers. But with 2024’s Do Not Befriend The Reaper, tempos have slowed (somewhat) and moods have soured (considerably).
Cowboy Killers Comedy Show: Open Mic @ Falcon Nest (last show ever)
Summer Sounds: Valley Fox @ Hubbard Park
Heart(beats) Of The City: KOJO @ Red Arrow Park
Tosa Tonight @ Hart Park, Wauwatosa

The free, four-day bash attracts over 250,000 visitors annually who enjoy live music, an international marketplace, French and Cajun cuisine, and roaming busker entertainment.” And yes, the ever-popular Storm the Bastille 5K run/walk is set for Thursday night. And of course, the festival’s iconic 43-foot Eiffel Tower replica will be there, too.
Wait Wait…Don’t Tell Me! @ The Riverside Theater
“Wait Wait…Don’t Tell Me! is National Public Radio’s Peabody Award-winning comedy news quiz show.
