One of Milwaukee’s many low-key gems is its RiverWalk. The pedestrian walkway runs along both sides of the Milwaukee River for approximately 20 city blocks, connecting the Historic Third Ward, Downtown, and the Beerline “B” neighborhoods. And while you’ll find the occasional sculpture on the RiverWalk (are any of those “Beasties” still around?), what you won’t find is a lot of live music, performance art, etc.

UNTIL NOW.

On Wednesdays and Saturdays from July 19 through September 16, “It’s Alive On The RiverWalk” will bring busker-style performances to various locations along the scenic walkway. The series is being booked by the Pabst Theater Group, with support from Lakefront Brewery, Blue Bat Kitchen & Tequilaria, the RiverWalk District, and other Milwaukee Theater District groups.

“Not only do the Milwaukee Theater District’s members deliver amazing performances nightly at their venues in Milwaukee, each performance also attracts ticket buyers from near and far who are all ready to experience all of the beauty that Milwaukee has to offer,” says Gary Witt, President & CEO of the Pabst Theater Group, in a press release. “We are pleased to show off our one of a kind RiverWalk via these buskers.”

Here’s the not-quite-complete, still-in-progress lineup. (We’ll update it as things continue to take shape.) Are you a musician/artist/poet/dancer/whatever and want to fill an empty slot? Sign up HERE! (“All busking performers will be provided with a $100 stipend. In classic busking fashion, performers are also welcome to collect tips from passing viewers.”)
