Every weekday for the past two weeks, we’ve announced the daily headliners of a different Summerfest stage. Friday’s unveiling of the JoJo’s Martini Lounge lineup was the 10th and final such announcement for 2019’s “Big Gig,” right? Wrong! There’s still one more Summerfest stage left to announce. No, we’re not referring to the Gruber Law Offices Sportzone. We’re talking about The Rebel Stage.

Since starting out with “a few guys, some instruments, and only one available power outlet” back in 2008, The Rebel Stage has livened up a (comparatively) low-traffic area of Henry Maier Festival Park with dozens of local bands hailing from all corners of the sonic spectrum. More than a decade later, The Rebel Stage remains locally-focused, 100 percent volunteer-run, and without any semblance of corporate sponsorship.

The small-but-awesome DIY stage will return to the grounds for the 2019 festivities, and they’re bringing an eclectic mix of genres that will ensure this year will be as weird and wonderful as ever. Some of the standouts include Size 5’s, Ahab’s Ghost, Whiskey Of The Damned, Conundrum, Magnetic Minds, The Atomic Spins, Pay The Devil, Beaumont James & The Wild Claims, RatBatSpider, and S.S. Web. Here’s (almost) the full Rebel Stage lineup. Bands interested in filling one of the few “TBA” slots should email [email protected].
