How does one describe long-running Milwaukee band/recording project Scrimshaw? In the past, we’ve called the group a “delightfully weirdo art-rock band” that occupies a world “where Dr. Demento rules the radio, Mad magazine is required college reading, and Don Knotts is People’s ‘Sexiest Man Alive’ for the 10th year running.” Yep! Sounds about right!

Anyway, the boys behind Scrimshaw—Brock Gourlie, Anton Sieger, and Robert Thomas—just released a new record. It’s called Whisk My Soupy. It features songs with titles like “Burlington Coat Factory Theatre,” “I Smell No Feces,” and “We Chose The Fish.” Like our headline says, it’s a weird and wiggly creation. Beyond that, listen for yourselves! (We love it.)
