After a swift and undeniable rise to mainstream prominence forced Sylvan Esso to move its September 5 show from Cactus Club to the more spacious confines of Pabst Theater, the intimate Bay View club somewhat made up for the loss—beyond hosting a post-show Sylvan Esso DJ Dance Party—by booking another great act with tangential Milwaukee connection to play in the coming weeks. On Friday, October 3, emo legends Braid will swing by Cactus Club to play its fourth Milwaukee show in the last three years.

This time around, it won’t be for the sake of an anniversary or Frame & Canvas-related reprisal. Rather this outing will be in support of the well-received month-old record No Coast, Braid’s first full-length since the aforementioned 1998 album. Tickets go on sale today. Opener(s) have not been announced yet, but what does it really matter? Fucking Braid is coming back to town! To quote various Braid songs, “YEAH!”
