Passes to Pridefest 2016—June 10-12 at Henry Maier Festival Park—have already been selling quite well, especially considering the long-running LGBTQ+ celebration and annual kickoff of Milwaukee’s festival season has yet to announce any performers. That is, until now. This morning, organizers unveiled the acts that will bring the weekend’s festivities to a rousing finish. On Sunday, June 12, Blondie will headline PrideFest 2016’s final night. Prior to the transcendent new wave band taking the stage, Milwaukee’s own GGOOLLDD will return to the grounds a year after its unforgettable PrideFest performance.
Tickets for reserved seats will be available for presale (with the code EPRIDE) beginning Wednesday, March 16 at 11 a.m., and go on sale to the general public Saturday, March 19 at 8 a.m. Reserved seats—which are not required—include Sunday admission to PrideFest. General admission passes to the entire weekend cost $33 (if purchased by May 10), with an option to pay extra to benefit the Plus One campaign, which supports survivors of sexual violence. If you can’t spare the extra money, PrideFest Milwaukee is still seeking volunteers.
Check back next week, when Milwaukee Record—a proud PrideFest Milwaukee 2016 sponsor—announces the next headliner.
