Though we’re still not quite sure when Milwaukee restaurants will reopen to dine-in customers, we have some good news for folks who have been craving a Toasted Cheesy Tomato or a Speedball for the past two-plus months. The Original Fuel Cafe (818 E. Center St.) will begin offering carryout food and beverages this week for the first time since March 16.

Starting Wednesday, May 27, Fuel Cafe will offer a selection of classic sandwiches, soup, bagels, burritos, coffee drinks, soft drinks, ground coffee, and even six-packs of Lakefront beer. The Riverwest staple’s hours of operation will be 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily. Here are a few guidelines to keep in mind:

• Orders must be placed and paid for over the phone in advance
• Beverage order walk-ups are welcome
Masks are required when waiting in line and while standing at the door

If you can understand and abide by those extremely simple policies, you can reach Fuel Cafe at 414-374-3835. Check out the carryout menu below.
