Back in July, Miller High Life announced a search for the inaugural mayor of the “Champagne of Beers” region. The honorary but incredibly important role is intended to celebrate “the Milwaukee resident who embodies the spirit and pride that defines the city that High Life calls home.” Well, it’s almost time to meet the mayor—and get some fresh ink in the process.
On Saturday, September 19, at 2 p.m., the mayor will be revealed and introduced at a ceremony at the Miller Visitor Center at 4251 W. State St. There’ll be music, commemorative merch, High Life (natch), and a chance for the public to receive “official citizenship certificates.” Milwaukee’s actual mayor, Mayor Cavalier Johnson, will be on hand to deliver some remarks, too.
But that’s not all! Over at nearby Saz’s State House, 5539 W. State St., locals can keep the celebration going by a getting a free Miller High Life-inspired flash tattoo from Walker’s Point Tattoo Company. “Whether you’re ready for a permanent tribute, prefer a temporary tattoo, or just want to pop by for a cheers, it’s the perfect day to commemorate the occasion and celebrate your love for the Champagne of Beers,” says Saz’s.
Tattoos are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Register HERE. Saz’s will contact you if you’re selected. Oh, and permanent tattoos, like High Life, are only available for folks 21 and older.
