In case you missed the news when we announced it last month, Milwaukee Record is getting its very own brandy! Correction: As of today, Milwaukee Record now HAS its very own brandy! Yes, the fine folks at Great Lakes Distillery have produced a batch of “Milwaukee Record Brandy” (do you like the name?!) and it’s limited to just 300 bottles that will ever be made. Honestly, when this single barrel release is gone, it’s gone forever.

Why such a low number of bottles? Well, this special release brandy was made using Wisconsin-grown grapes that have been aged for two years. You can enjoy this 90 proof delicacy on the rocks, in an old fashioned alongside your Friday Fish Fry, as part of a holiday cocktail, and while reading about local happenings on your favorite web-only Milwaukee entertainment publication. These 750 ml bottles can ONLY be purchased at Great Lakes Distillery, which supplies last. They retail for $35, and a portion of that sum makes its way to supporting Milwaukee Record. Our brandy correspondent Bert Lauderdale has more on this specialty spirit.

But that’s not all! Join us at Great Lakes Distillery tonight (Friday, October 18) for a multi-faceted event we’re calling “A Celebration Of Brandy.” From 6-10 p.m., the distillery’s tasting room will be serving a selection of specialty brandy cocktails. Its in-house Fox Den restaurant will offer a brandy-inspired smash burger for the occasion. Check out more info on the cocktails and specialty burger below.

Oh, and we’ll be there celebrating the other Brandy—the iconic singer, actor, and model—by putting together a playlist that features an abundance of her music (as well as some other ’90s and 2000s R&B cuts). Heck, we’ll even be throwing Moesha on some of the distillery’s TVs.

And there’s somehow even more? Yep! Beyond drinking brandy cocktails, enjoying the tunes/visuals, and chatting with fellow brandy (and Brandy) aficionados, Milwaukee Record will be on-site from 6-10 p.m. to sell our T-shirts at DEEP discounts. Show us you bought a bottle of our brandy and you can get a shirt (or shirts, plural!) for $10 apiece. They’ll also be marked down from their usual online prices to just $20 (or two for $36) without a brandy purchase. We’ll also have our famous Prize Wheel out to give you a chance to take home some goodies. Show us your Milwaukee Record Brandy bottle and/or subscribe to our newsletter and you’ll get a free spin.

Hopefully you come to Great Lakes Distillery tonight for A Celebration Of Brandy. And if we don’t see you tonight, you can probably still pick up a bottle (or two or three) at the distillery over the weekend or sometime next week. Cheers, Milwaukee!
