Back in June, we told you Ian’s Pizza was planning to open its fourth Milwaukee location. In that article, we mentioned the Madison-born chain’s incoming restaurant situated in the ground floor of the R1VER apartment complex (2035 S. 1st St.) at the northwest edge of Bay View would “primarily function as a production facility for the ‘Ian’s Pizza Anywhere’ line of frozen pizzas,” but would also feature “a small restaurant available in front for slices to-go.”

Well, the newest and by far the smallest Ian’s quietly had its soft opening in late October and is now officially open for business. We stopped in this afternoon to check out the space and treat ourselves to a slice.

Admittedly, selection is limited, with only seven pizzas available by-the-slice during our visit, but our Smokey The Bandit slice was hitting. Whole pizzas, its famous Puppy Chow, and Side Sticks (sold in units of one, three, six, and 24 sticks) are also available. There’s a cooler with canned and bottled soft drinks as well.

While it seems like most orders will be taken to-go, there’s a pair of two-top tables and a row of eight stools situated beside a window-adjacent counter for those who wish to dine in. Delivery is not available at this location.

Currently, the self-dubbed “Harbor District” Ian’s is open 11 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday, 11 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Sundays, and it’s closed on Monday and Tuesday.
