In a world lousy with high-pressure cooking shows, the Milwaukee-made Milwaukee Kitchen is a breath of fresh air. The homegrown YouTube series has been serving up warm, low-key, idiosyncratic, extremely Riverwest-y, and delightfully dreamlike culinary action since 2018. Yes, this is a cooking show that features a kitchenfull of friends and neighbors discussing recipes, but it also features the subtitled thoughts of a French-speaking cat.

Want to catch up on the past six years of the show, or perhaps relive your favorite moments? Then you’re in luck: the recently released 25th episode, “Spicy And Dicey,” is a best-of highlight show. And those highlights were chosen by “guest editors” like Milwaukee Magazine dining critic Ann Christenson, Milwaukee/former Milwaukee art legends Stephanie Barber and Theresa Columbus, Milwaukee Kitchen homeowners Didier Leplae and Kiki Anderson, and others.

“[Milwaukee Kitchen] amplifies the eclectic vibe of its Riverwest neighborhood,” a title card reads at one point. And yep, that’s exactly right! Watch it here:
