Coffee pods kind of suck. The only thing more terrible than the stale, non-locally roasted grounds that don’t yield anywhere near as much coffee as most humans desire is the horrendous impact their plastic containers inflict on the environment. But what if we told you there was a way to enjoy an actually normal amount of your favorite coffee in a pod format that’s eco-friendly? It probably seems like some kind of amazing fantasy world, right? Well, it’s not.

Milwaukee’s own Anodyne Coffee Roasters recently entered the single-serve coffee industry by making its Milwaukee Rockstar Blend and Atomic Blend available in pods. However, there are a few catches you should be aware of. First of all, these Anodyne pods yield 40% more coffee than standard pods. It’s also worth mentioning that they ARE adaptable with most single-serve coffee machines (including Keurig). And finally, we must admit that, yes, you absolutely CAN recycle the pod containers when you’re done with them. Now you know.

So if you want single-serve coffee that’s roasted locally and is, you know, actually good, Anodyne now has you covered. You can pick up 12-packs of single-serve pods on Anodyne’s website, at all four Anodyne cafes, from Outpost Natural Foods and Sendik’s locations, and at a variety of other spots in and around Milwaukee. And hey, if they eventually start making Milwaukee Record Blend pods, we totally wouldn’t hate that.
