Ready…aim…fire! Slingshot Bar—a.k.a. Bars & Recreation‘s new activity bar at 6325 W. National Ave. in West Allis—is open for business! Just be sure to wear proper eye protection (provided) and sign a waiver (also provided)!

“Designed with a one-of-a-kind ‘jungle junkyard’ theme, Slingshot Bar invites guests to grab a slingshot and take aim at an array of both stationary and moving targets across a 60-foot indoor range,” explains a press release. A visit to the new business for its grand opening on Thursday confirmed that press release: there’s definitely a “jungle junkyard” theme going on here, and there are definitely both stationary and moving targets (the boat moves). Plus, there’s a tire swing or two, a fully stocked bar, and a special beer from nearby Ope! Brewing Co. called—what else?—Ope! You’ll Shoot Your Eye Out.

Slingshot Bar joins a host of other Bars & Recreation activity joints: Nine Below (indoor mini golf), AXE MKE (axe throwing), NorthSouth Club (shuffleboard and axe throwing), Splash Studio (painting), Amped (karaoke), Game Show MKE (game shows), and The New Fashioned (a little bit of everything). Like those places, Slingshot Bar seems a bit ridiculous on paper, but, upon actually checking it out, seems like a ton of fun. Our prediction? It’ll be a huge success, perfect for parties, corporate events, random nights out, and, yes, even kiddie birthday parties.
