If you missed last night’s screening of Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping at Avalon Theater, we hope you did something equally constructive elsewhere, but you also missed out on the announcement of our April 20 screening. Join us at the Moontower Avalon Theater on 4/20 for a special screening of Richard Linklater’s 1993 teen mischief masterpiece, Dazed And Confused. Tickets are ON SALE NOW.

Dazed And Confused presents a fictionalized last day of school in 1976 through the linked experiences of several groups of Texas teenagers and one seriously creepy older Texas weirdo. Over the course of 24-ish hours, the various teens get involved with fast driving, freshman hazing, shop class bongs, baseball, fighting, Ben Affleck, nose-touching, jalapeno burgers, soggy fries, and so much more. It’s a slice of mid-’70s life that doesn’t really have much of a point, but some of the characters kind of develop in various ways…sort of. It’s great.

The ensemble cast features a ton of teen actors that never really made it as actors, along with about a baker’s dozen who did. Standouts include: Jason London, Joey Lauren Adams, Milla Jovovich, Rory Cochrane, Adam Goldberg, Deena Martin, Michelle “Connie Conehead” Burke, Cole “the engine’s good” Hauser, Ben Affleck, Parker Posey, Nicky Katt, Renee Zellweger, and Matthew McConaughey.

Tickets to the 7 p.m. screening are $11 and our generous sponsors are Lakefront Brewery and Educators Credit Union! You don’t have to go to this screening…but it’d be a lot cooler if you did.
