Is it too early to get excited for the 2020 Milwaukee Film Festival? NO. It is never too early to get excited for the 2020 Milwaukee Film Festival. The 12th annual MFF isn’t set to light up Milwaukee movie screens until October 15-29, but today, Milwaukee Film has opened its call for entries. Get to it, Milwaukee/world filmmakers!

Film festivals are a chance to discover new voicesnew perspectives and new stories,” says Cara Ogburn, Milwaukee Film Festival director, in a press release. “We’re excited to see all the films from Milwaukee and around the globe that come to us through our open submissions.”

The deadline for submissions is Wednesday, July 1. More information and a submission form can be found HERE.

According to Milwaukee Film, “films chosen to screen during the Festival may be eligible for juried awards that include cash prizesAs part of the 2019 Festival, Milwaukee Film distributed $38,000 in award funds to filmmakers.” Oh, and there’s no entry fee for submissions! And Milwaukee Film “offers to pay for any film screened during the Festival.” Neat!

Milwaukee Film puts out call for entries for annual Festival, presented by Associated Bank, on Oct. 15-29

MILWAUKEE – Monday, March 9, 2020 – As Milwaukee Film searches the world for the best in film to present during its fall Festival, the nonprofit has opened its call for entries to be considered for the 12th annual Milwaukee Film Festival, presented by Associated Bank.

Filmmakers are invited to submit completed films of any length or genre for consideration in the nonprofit’s annual Festival. In addition to charging no entry fee for submissions, Milwaukee Film offers to pay for any film screened during the Festival.
