Remember last year’s beloved, not-at-all controversial July 3 lakefront drone show? You know, Milwaukee County’s July 3 drone show that replaced its traditional July 3 fireworks display? Well, with the Fourth of July weekend fast approaching, consider this a friendly reminder that Milwaukee County’s July 3 lakefront drone show is returning in 2026.
Yay? At least it’ll have some new “pyrotechnic drone technology” and “spark effects”?
“This year’s signature event will take the experience up with an expanded lineup of family-friendly activities along the lakefront prior to the debut of pyrotechnic drone technology, combining synchronized aerial light formations with safe, controlled spark effects,” reads the event’s description. “Viewers can expect awe-inspiring images of Milwaukee’s most iconic landmarks, and other patriotic and local themes. A synchronized soundtrack will accompany the drones.”

The show will run from 9-9:45 p.m. Parking spots along the lake open at 2 p.m.; beer stands and various activity stations open at 3 p.m. Where will all the action take place? Here’s a map!
