Magic Bruno has lived at least nine lives and would like to spend the rest of them on your lap. Bruno was a neighborhood stray with a fan club of caretakers, and generally did his own thing…until he got gravely ill. Urban Cat Coalition got an urgent plea for help and rushed him to the emergency vet, barely clinging to life. It involved a feeding tube, mountains of medication, and several moments where nobody was entirely sure Bruno would make it.
Bruno, however, had other plans. Today, he’s healthy and happy, with a variety of hobbies that include flinging toy mice across the room, carrying on conversations in a delightful, congested little meow, purring at full volume, and performing a signature pre-zoomie head shake that looks like he’s buffering before takeoff.
He loves attention. He loves laps. He loves being near people. There is, however, a small Bruno-shaped catch. Bruno believes affection operates under a permit system. He would very much like to sit on you. He may even press his face into yours while purring like a chainsaw. But touching him requires authorization, and the list of approved petting locations changes without notice. Violations may result in a corrective paw tap from management. For this reason, Bruno is looking for an experienced cat person with a good sense of humor and respect for feline laws.
His FIV+ status sometimes leaves him with a runny nose, watery eyes, and the occasional crusty face. Bruno considers any assistance with said crust an outrageous invasion of privacy, but he tolerates the necessary maintenance. Beneath the boogers are stunning amber eyes. He gets along well with other cats, and would enjoy feline companionship, but could also be perfectly happy as an only pet. Dogs are tolerated.
Magic Bruno isn’t polished. He isn’t perfect. He occasionally sneezes directly in your face. But he’s funny, affectionate, resilient, and proof that sometimes even the scrappiest of cats get the happiest endings. If you’re the kind of person who appreciates a little bit of lovable nonsense, Bruno awaits.
Medical notes: FIV+ is no big deal. These cats can live normal lives and cohabitate with FIV-negative cats. FIV+ cats do benefit from some lysine supplements to boost their immune system and a regular check-in with a vet to keep them tip top.
