Milwaukee Record is working in partnership with Urban Cat Coalition to help find loving homes for area cats. Each week, we—with generous sponsorship from Skilos, A Family Pet Store—plan to highlight a feline friend that’s currently up for adoption by naming it “Milwaukee Record’s Cat Of The Week.” This week: the affectionate and lovably lazy Garfield.
Garfield is a large orange icon recently retired from the streets of Milwaukee. Despite the orange cat rumors, Garfield is a clever boy. He knows exactly where to sit so you feel obligated to pet him, and he has perfected the art of looking incredibly handsome while doing absolutely nothing.

This guy is more cuddle than chaos. His idea of a wild time is a thorough brushing session followed by a nap so good it requires another nap. He is gentle, affectionate, and deeply committed to doing less. He is FIV+ but healthy and thriving, and he’s looking for a quiet, loving home where he can nap, snack, supervise, nap again, and possibly nap a third time just to be safe.
He would get along with other congenial pets fine, but he’d be perfectly happy being your one and only. If you’re seeking a sweet, gentle cat who is ready to become a household legend, Garfield is ready to move in.
