Surprise, surprise! Milwaukee Record is doing another bracket. Once again, we’ll be taking the competition statewide. Last summer, we put together a bracket to help determine Wisconsin’s best lake. Two years before that, we called upon readers to figure out the state’s best city. So the obvious choice for this summer’s bracket is none other than…COUNTIES.

Between July 6 and July 28, we’ll be hosting our Wisconsin County Bracket. Over the span of six rounds, you’ll be able to cast your vote between a total of 64 geographic land divisions contained within the Badger State. It’s going to be fun…or go off the rails immediately. We really never know!

However, given the fact there are 72 counties in the state, we’re going to precede the actual bracket with a “Play-In” that will find the 16 least populous Wisconsin counties engaging in a total of eight head to head match ups. The winner of each match up will earn a spot in the actual Wisconsin County Bracket when that begins Monday, July 6.

Get it? Probably not! Will you complain about it? Almost certainly! Well, deal with it and make your picks in the Wisconsin County Bracket Play-In—as many times as you want—between now and 11:59 p.m. CST on Friday, July 3. And be sure to check back for the final 64-county competition next week!
