By now you’ve probably heard that the public plaza surrounding Milwaukee’s Fiserv Forum, the so-called “Deer District,” will transform into the so-called “Fear District” this fall. Oh, you haven’t heard? Well, from Thursday, September 26 through Sunday, November 3, the (mostly) family-friendly Fear District will be home to three 3,600-square-foot haunted houses (Vampire Village, Dead Man’s Wharf, Scare Acres), oodles of Halloween-themed activities, oodles of Halloween-themed food and drink specials, games, and free horror movie screenings. YES.

Okay, let’s list the Fear District hours first:

Thursdays 6-10 p.m.
Fridays 6-11 p.m.
Saturdays 11 a.m.-11 p.m.
Sundays 2-8 p.m.

Now let’s list the after-dark Beer Garden movies, which, as you’ll see, aren’t for kids:

Thursday, October 3: Halloween (the original, we’re assuming)
Thursday, October 10: The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (the original, we’re assuming)
Thursday, October 17: A Nightmare On Elm Street (the original, we’re assuming)
Thursday, October 24: Scream (how has this not been rebooted yet?)
Thursday, October 31: Friday The 13th (the original, we’re assuming)

Now let’s talk money. The Fear District is free. However, admission to the haunted houses is $20 for adults and $15 for kids 12 and under and for folks 65 and over. Pre-sale tickets will be available from September 6 through September 9. Tickets then go on sale September 10. Get them HERE and HERE. (Games, food, and drinks will be sold separately.)

NOW…let’s talk about “scare actors. Yes, the Fear District is looking for “high-energy actors to portray a variety of scary characters,” as well as “improv actors with the ability to portray a given character and vocal styling while having improvisational conversations with guest and possibly media.” Here’s the open call:
