In addition to our regular written content, Milwaukee Record has partnered with the fine folks at Honeycomb Productions to add a visual component to our coverage. Going forward, expect to find occasional video features popping up, such as a monthly music video series called “Prop-a-Ganza” and this periodic visual adventure, “Run Of The Mil.”
For our first installment of “Run Of The Mil,” we figured there was no better person to be our inaugural interviewee than “Mr. Baseball” himself, Bob Uecker. But since he’s out of town and he apparently didn’t get the dozens of lengthy handwritten notes we sent requesting to meet, we did the next best thing.
Thanks to the wonder of Milwaukee rapper/filmmaker Wes Tank’s green screen know-how and some nifty editing by Honeycomb’s Kurt Raether and Ryan Sarnowski, buttoned-up host Matt Wild and wacky bandleader Tyler Maas—trusty “Tylophone” in tow—“interview” Uecker about his early opinion of Milwaukee Record and his plans during his off days this season. The broadcast legend even offers up a few article ideas that aren’t quite right for the site.
We’re excited to see what other types of videos we can make with Honeycomb Productions behind us. Who knows, maybe we’ll film a real interview sometime.
