Every Wednesday at noon, WMSE’s Ryan Schleicher, Shepherd Express’ Evan Rytlewski, and Milwaukee Record’s Matt Wild take to the WMSE airwaves to discuss all things Milwaukee. This half-hour fun-fest is called The Disclaimer, so named because none of the oft-ridiculous views expressed on the show necessarily reflect the views of the hosts’ employers. Milwaukee music, Milwaukee art, Milwaukee events, and D.I.Y. lawn care tips are frequently discussed—and rarely agreed upon. The Disclaimer: talk radio for the sane.

Earlier this month, it was announced that Journal Communications Inc. would “merge” with Cincinnati-based E.W. Scripps. The Journal Sentinel would be spun off from the company’s broadcast entities, the paper would be debt-free, and everything would be fine. Or not. Matt and Evan welcome Urban Milwaukee’s Bruce Murphy to the studio to talk about the finer points of the “merger,” and what it means for the future of the daily and the state. Amputated legs, basement punk bands, and last-minute hosting jitters from Matt all make appearances.
