You read that right, turkeynecks: Crusherfest—the annual celebration of South Milwaukee wrestling legend Reggie “Da Crusher” Lisowski—has been postponed because of the COVID-19 crisis. Ugh.
“Crusherfest is postponed due to COVID-19,” reads a no-nonsense Facebook post. “We hope to have it this fall, but are waiting to announce a new date until the landscape becomes clearer.”
The second annual party was scheduled for June 6-7.
Back in 2019, a life-sized bronze statue of Lisowski was unveiled at a gala celebration dubbed Crusherfest. The festival/unveiling was the final step of a crowdfunding campaign, launched by Chris Smith in late 2017, that eventually raised more than $40,000 to build the statue. The fest was awesome. The fest was fun. The fest was PACKED.
