Personally, I miss Trocadero. It was a great place to go hang out and get a cheapish cone of frites and a cheapish beverage and it always had room for big groups of students when we'd get there after the UWM music school concerts got out.

A go-to when we weren't sure what we wanted. Yeah, you can still get the slaw and chips at Lu-Lu's, but J61 was within walking distance for us, and we were never disappointed.

i miss Love Handle on Prospect where the gluten-free bakery is now so bad that my spouse and i have made several road trips to Indianapolis, where they relocated, just to eat the sandwiches AND picked up a friend in Chicago who also missed them on the way. We haven't done it since before the pandemic and are probably overdue for one.
