Turner Classic Movies to Spotlight Milwaukee Film’s Historic Oriental Theatre on Interstitial Series STILL NOW SHOWING

MILWAUKEE – Tuesday, September 8th – Milwaukee Film is thrilled to announce that Turner Classic Movies (TCM) has selected the historic Oriental Theatre as the subject of an upcoming episode of their interstitial series Still Now Showing. This program, which airs on TCM and the TCM YouTube channel, highlights some of the historical movie theatres in the United States.

“To say Turner Classic Movies is beloved by classic film lovers is an understatement. TCM is hallowed ground, unrivaled in its commitment to presenting the greatest films of the past, so we are overjoyed our gorgeous movie palace will be part of TCM’s distinguished Still Now Showing series,” expressed Susan Kerns, Executive Director of Milwaukee Film. “We hope this recognition shines a national spotlight on Milwaukee’s vibrant film community, encouraging people from outside the city to visit our cinemas.”

A film crew from TCM will be in town to record footage and interviews at the Oriental Theatre on September 23 and 24, coinciding with the opening night of the third annual Dialogues Documentary Festival, presented by Potawatomi Casino Hotel. The finished piece is set to premiere at a later date.

“TCM is proud to showcase historic independent movie theatres across the country in Still Now Showing”, said Scott McGee, Senior Director of Original Programming for TCM. “TCM is committed to supporting communities coming together through film.”
