MILWAUKEE RECREATION TO HOST SEVENTH ANNUAL WINTER WONDER WOODS

Event to take place December 10 – 13

Milwaukee Recreation will host the seventh annual Winter Wonder Woods event at Hawthorn Glen (1130 N. 60th St.) on December 10 – 13 from 5:00pm – 8:00pm. All are invited to take in the seasonal sights and sounds of the Glen while enjoying a winter-themed hike.

Participants are invited to explore the winter beauty of Hawthorn Glen Outdoor Education Center with an evening walk through the woods, featuring nature-inspired displays that gently illuminate the path and your understanding of the natural world. This year, lighting will be scaled back to allow Hawthorn Glen’s natural beauty to take center stage.

The trail will also include a selfie station, hiking Santa, educational facts and more. Following the hike, participants are welcome to sit by the fire and enjoy complimentary warm drinks and cookies.

This year, Milwaukee Recreation is offering the Winter Wonder Woods experience to all community members for free. Community members no longer have to register for a time slot and attend during a specific window of time. Participants may enjoy the experience and enter and exit Hawthorn Glen as they please.
