Miller Lite to Ring in the New Year in Milwaukee with 34th Annual Free Rides
The Free Rides program is part of the company’s mission to promote alcohol responsibility and signifies largest program to date

MILWAUKEE – Dec 14, 2022 – On Dec. 31, Molson Coors will be ringing in more than just the new year — the company is ringing in their largest Free Rides program year yet. Molson Coors will once again be offering free mass transit on New Year’s Eve through its 2022 Miller Lite Free Rides program. To help Milwaukee residents responsibly celebrate one of the busiest nights of the year, free rides will be available on the Milwaukee County Transit System (MCTS) beginning on Dec. 31. Fare will be free of charge from 8 p.m. through the end of service. Several popular bus routes, including the GreenLine, BlueLine, PurpleLine, GoldLine, and Routes 14, 18, 19 and 30, will have extended service until 4 a.m.

“We’re thrilled to once again offer our Free Rides program on New Year’s Eve to help everyone ring in the new year safely,” said Tami Garrison, Molson Coors community affairs director. “Each year we’re reminded of the meaningful impact that stems from our Free Rides program and it motivates us to continue expanding this program.”

The 2022 New Year’s Eve Free Rides program concludes this year’s annual program, with transit offered through 13 events in nine different cities across the country, including St. Patrick’s Day, the Kentucky Derby, the NFL season and World Series.

The Free Rides program is part of Molson Coors’ commitment to its community to promote alcohol responsibility by helping individuals to celebrate safely. For more than three decades, Molson Coors has provided over 8 million people across the country with free transportation on major holidays and other significant celebrations. Since the program began locally in 1988, nearly 1 million rides have been provided to Milwaukee area residents.

“Our long-standing partnership with Miller Lite and their Free Rides program on New Year’s Eve is incredibly popular among those who enjoy celebrating,” said Kristina Hoffman, MCTS director of marketing and communications. “It’s important to us that Milwaukeeans leave the driving to MCTS. Each year thousands of party goers ring in the New Year safely thanks to Miller Lite.”

In addition to Milwaukee, Molson Coors will also offer free rides on New Year’s Eve through its Free Rides program to residents in Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Minneapolis-St. Paul and Phoenix this year.

Don’t wait until the ball drops at midnight to plan your ride home. Visit MCTS’s website to review transit routes to ensure a safe ride home this New Year’s Eve.
