Gov. Evers Celebrates Brewers’ First-Ever World Series Win, Proclaims Brewers “Won Our Way” Day
MADISON — Gov. Tony Evers today proclaimed Fri., Oct. 30, 2026, as Brewers “Won Our Way” Day in Wisconsin as the state celebrates the Milwaukee Brewers’ historic first-ever World Series Championship win. The Brewers’ World Series win capped off a historic postseason run, ultimately fulfilling the team motto, “Win Our Way,” which has become a statewide rallying cry for players and fans alike.
“It’s a great day to be a Brewers fan and a great day to be a Wisconsinite—to say we’re jazzed as hell about the Milwaukee Brewers winning their first-ever World Series Championship title is an understatement,” said Gov. Evers. “What a series, and what a team. From the smallest market, the Brewers have secured their place in the halls of history as World Champions, and I want to congratulate the team, Pat Murphy, and his coaching staff, who showed relentless determination in securing this monumental achievement.
“As a lifelong Brewers fan, like so many across our state, I have waited for this day for a long time, and I am damn excited and proud to be proclaiming tomorrow, Brewers ‘Won Our Way’ Day in Wisconsin to celebrate our World Champion Milwaukee Brewers. For Ueck, for Milwaukee, and for Wisconsin, Go Brewers!”

In their 57th season in Milwaukee, the Brewers won 103 regular season games, securing their fourth-straight NL Central championship title, breaking the franchise record for wins in a season, becoming the first team in three years to reach 100 games, and clinching the No. 1 seed and home field advantage throughout the postseason. In the postseason, they continued their winning streak with another 11 wins, including a sweep for the NLCS title, sending them to the World Series for the first time in 44 years, where they tied the Major League record for the longest single-postseason win streak with eight consecutive wins and the record for most come-from-behind postseason victories.
As a Wisconsinite and a lifelong Brewers fan, Gov. Evers recognizes the Brewers are not only a cherished part of the state’s heritage, but also an essential part of Milwaukee’s and the state’s economic success. In 2023, Gov. Evers was proud to sign two bipartisan bills, 2023 Wisconsin Acts 40 and 41, to keep the Milwaukee Brewers and Major League Baseball in Wisconsin through 2050. The bills were passed with broad, bipartisan support after months of collaboration and negotiations between the Office of the Governor, members of the Wisconsin State Legislature, the Brewers, Milwaukee County, the city of Milwaukee, and local stakeholders and partners.
