Milwaukee, Wisconsin – May 5, 2025 – New Land Enterprises, with Fatima and Hanish Kumar, are delighted to announce the upcoming launch of āya, an upscale, elevated Mediterranean restaurant poised to transport guests to the vibrant bazaars and spice-rich coasts of the Middle East. āya will become a destination at the corner of Kilbourn and Van Buren in the Ascent MKE apartment complex, and will usher in a bright new era of dining, offering an elegant and inviting atmosphere paired with an exciting and sophisticated culinary experience.
Building on the success of their popular third ward restaurant, Saffron, and its sister restaurant in Red Bank, New Jersey, the Kumars are excited to expand their role in Milwaukee’s culinary scene.
Drawing inspiration from the sun-drenched coastal regions of the Middle East, āya’s menu will take guests on a culinary journey with every dish. Guests can look forward to savoring charcoal-grilled specialties, and enjoying a variety of mezze and larger plates designed for sharing moments of joy with family and friends. The cuisine pays homage to the Middle Eastern shore, showcasing a medley of culinary influences with spices that define the Middle East and global twists that are sure to delight the senses.
