Milwaukee lost a real one in November 2024 when Antoine “Twan” Mack passed away at the age of 54. In addition to pioneering the “adult contemporary hip-hop” style, Mack was a member of Kali Tribe in the ’90s, a festival fixture, an opener routinely called upon when some of rap’s biggest names wanted local support, a frequent tour mate of Arrested Development, and a positive influence on generations of Milwaukee artists who followed in his footsteps.

Months before his untimely passing, Mack performed at Appleton’s Mile Of Music festival. A portion of that performance will be included in PBS Wisconsin’s one-hour Mile Of Music documentary, set to premiere Monday, June 23 at 8 p.m. Ahead of the premiere, PBS Wisconsin has launched a page with 32 extended performances from musicians featured in the doc. A full song from Twan Mack is included.

Here he is—alongside DJ Swadetrackz—performing “Swade And Antoine Intro” at last year’s Mile Of Music. R.I.P. Mack.
