Milwaukee folk fixture Trapper Schoepp And The Shades has spent much of 2014 either on the road or in a Nashville studio with Brendan Benson recording a new album (that may or may not feature Marc Maron playing guitar on a song). However, the band was back in town last week to shoot a session for Paste Magazine‘s “Live At Aloft Hotels” series at the hotel chain’s downtown Milwaukee lounge.

Schoepp and company played a great stripped-down rendition of the title track from the band’s 2012 breakout album Run, Engine, Run in front of a roaring fire for onlookers. Already one of Milwaukee’s most established acts, next year is bound to be a huge one for Trapper Schoepp & The Shades. This Paste video serves as a great precursor. See for yourself.
