Let’s just get this out of the way: The Postal Service’s seminal album Give Up turned 20 in 2023, as did Death Cab For Cutie’s seminal album Transatlanticism. Twenty years! And next spring, The Postal Service and Death Cab For Cutie—both fronted by Ben Gibbard, of course—will celebrate those records with a (belated) anniversary show at Milwaukee’s Miller High Life Theatre on Monday, May 6, 2024.

Twenty years!

“Each night,” explains a press release, “Benjamin Gibbard, the co-founder of both bands, will pull double duty performing with The Postal Service—comprised of Gibbard, Jimmy Tamborello, and Jenny Lewis—as well as with Death Cab For Cutie (alongside Nick Harmer, Dave Depper, Zac Rae, and Jason McGerr).”

Tickets to the show are between $59.50 and $125, and go on sale Friday, December 8 at 10 a.m. Slow Pulp is also on the bill, and yes, both Give Up and Transatlanticism will be played in full.

Also: Twenty years! It may seem like a stretch, but it’s sobering facts like this that catch our troubled heads when you’re away.
