Milwaukee’s premier sibling indie-pop duo Vic And Gab has been uncharacteristically quiet of late. Sisters Victoriah and Hannah Gabriela Banuelos have significantly reduced the frequency of shows (that we’ve playfully suggested happen on a daily basis) to write material and record a new EP. However, between recording and their inevitable return to their traditional breakneck pace, Vic And Gab found time to be the latest artists featured on Cream City Soundcheck, a series of short music documentaries created by UW-Milwaukee students in partnership with the Pabst Theater Group.

In this installment, the Banuelos sisters strap on some helmets, put on pads, and cruise around north side bicycle park Ray’s MTB. When they aren’t tooling up and down ramps with varying levels of success (hopefully Gab is okay!), the siblings discuss their musical beginnings, explain why they love Milwaukee, and play some songs during a Turner Hall set in support of Peter Mulvey last May. The sweet seven-minute musical vignette’s release precedes Women’s Weekend at Ray’s (March 13-15)—during which the Vic And Gab Cream City Soundcheck will repeatedly screen—and Vic And Gab’s upcoming SXSW appearance.

Future Cream City Soundcheck videos will feature Caley Conway And The Lucy Cukes, GGOOLLDD, Lex Allen, and others.
