While Sylvan Esso calls Durham, North Carolina home, the world-renowned, Grammy-nominated electro-pop duo’s story actually starts right here in Milwaukee. Vocalist Amelia Meath and producer (and then-Milwaukee resident) Nick Sanborn met at a show at Cactus Club and the rest was history. Years later, the collaborators will return to where it all started for a surprise show.

Sylvan Esso just announced a benefit concert that’s taking place at Cactus Club on Tuesday, September 13. That’s tomorrow! Tickets to this extra special and extra intimate 9 p.m. show (doors at 8 p.m.) in this extra special venue are $45 and they’re on sale now (though this will likely sell out in minutes). Proceeds will benefit Midwest Access Coalition, “a practical abortion fund that helps people traveling to, from, and within the Midwest to access a safe, legal abortion.”

Once again, tickets are going to sell fast, but if you miss out on the opportunity to see Sylvan Esso, you can come to Cactus after the show is over to enjoy an after party where Sanborn will DJ until close. More info below!

Oh, and here’s a picture of Sylvan Esso throwing out the first pitch at Sunday’s Brewers game.
