Today in exciting concert announcements: Weezer will be coming to Fiserv Forum on Wednesday, October 7! It will be the legendary alternative rock band’s first show in Milwaukee in more than five years, and their first show at the arena ever.
This concert is part of an utterly stacked tour called “The Gathering” that also features opening support from The Shins and Silversun Pickups. Tickets to this can’t-miss affair go on sale Friday, April 3 at 10 a.m. CT. We’ll see you there!
BUT THERE’S MORE! The fine folks at Fiserv Forum asked us to partner with them on a fun event related to the concert. On Tuesday, March 31 (yes, that’s next week!), Milwaukee Record and Lilliput Records will be hosting a “Gathering” of our own at Blackbird Bar (3007 S. Kinnickinnic Ave.) from 4-6 p.m.
During that two-hour span, we’ll be playing a steady diet of Weezer, The Shins, and Silversun Pickups. Every drink purchase will get you a raffle ticket to give you a chance at prizes, which we’ll be raffling off every half hour starting at 4:30 p.m. (including merch and even a pair of tickets to the concert). We’ll also be holding a pinball tournament on Blackbird’s “King Kong: Myth Of Terror Island” machine, with a grand prize—that includes a pair of tickets to the concert—for the player who posts the highest score.
There’s no cost to attend this 21+ event (beyond, you know, paying for your own pinball turn). WEEZER! THE SHINS! SILVERSUN PICKUPS! PINBALL! Hell yes.
