Flat Teeth has been busy lately. Over the past four months, the Milwaukee indie rock outfit played Bay View Bash, put out its debut full-length, and followed that impressive release with an abundance of local shows and a remarkable mixed-media music video. Things don’t seem to be letting up any time soon, as the band will start 2020 strong by playing in support of Cloud Nothings at The Back Room @ Colectivo this Sunday night. In advance of that show and in preparation of what’s likely to be another busy year for Flat Teeth, they’ve decided to make a video for another Silent Seconds single.

This time around, the band avoid the blend of animation and public domain footage they employed in the recent “On My Heels” video in favor of something more straightforward. Shot by Milwaukee photographer/videographer Samer Ghani, the video for Flat Teeth’s “Side Attack” soars in its simplicity. Black and white footage grants a personal glimpse of the band playing together in their practice space.

“The video, for me, was a reflection of the start of the band,” Ghani says. “Being able to use the practice space as a creative perspective was challenging, but landed in the way that Silent Seconds speaks to its listeners. It is isolating but fast moving.”

Before singer Nik Stoehr’s solo show on January 9 and prior to the band’s January 12 show with Cloud Nothings, watch the video for “Side Attack” below.
