Milwaukee is chock full of things to do, but only a handful of Milwaukee events are worthy of the lofty honor of “Record Recommended” (patent pending). Here are our recommendations—brought to you by Lilliput Records—for November 4-10, 2024.
MONDAY, NOVEMBER 4
Total Hell + Force @ Promises
“⚡️TONIGHT IS DOUBLE FUCKIN’ BIG TIME⚡️”
TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 5
Grace Weber + Wave Chapelle @ X-Ray Arcade
“Grammy Award winner and Wisconsinite Grace Weber will be performing at a free concert with Wave Chapelle on election night – November 5th, 2024 at X-Ray Arcade in Cudahy, Wisconsin in Milwaukee County. Tickets are available by submitting a selfie from OUTSIDE one’s polling place or at home with a blank and unmarked ballot. Future voters enter by RSVP-ing and sharing what election they will be 18 for. Ineligible voters enter by letting #iVoted Concerts know why they’re excited to attend. There is NO CIVIC ACTION REQUIRED to enter the show.”
Mariee Siou + Donnie CoCo, King Courteen @ Cactus Club
Sentient Horror + Drillbit, Micawber @ Sabbatic
VOTE! (if you haven’t already)
WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 6
Caley Conway (record release) + Cathedral Becomes Tomb, The Hatchets @ Anodyne Walker’s Point Roastery
There are moments in Caley Conway’s new album, Partner, when the ever-busy Milwaukee singer-songwriter finds herself caught in the humdrum duties of daily life. There are things to do—or not—people to see—or not—and the ones and zeros of technology to attend to. And then, suddenly, she’s off and dreaming, belly laughing with a distant friend or considering taking up “the work of birds.” When she comes back down to Earth, more often than not, she finds bliss in a comforting middle ground. “There aren’t enough hours in the day, I’ve counted,” Conway sings early in the record, before slyly adding, “For loving you.”
Midweek Music: Roxie Beane @ Crafty Cow (Wauwatosa)
Join us at Crafty Cow Tosa on select Wednesdays and Thursdays in October and November for a total of eight Midweek Music performances! Once again, there’s NO COVER for these all-ages shows, which run from 7-8:30 p.m. If a free weeknight show isn’t already great enough on its own, Crafty Cow Tosa will offer $4 pints from Badger State Brewing. They’ll also have meal deals available during each show. The series continues this week with the always terrific Roxie Beane.
Charli XCX vs. Kesha vs. Chappell Roan @ Mad Planet
THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 7
Eugene Mirman @ Vivarium
“Eugene Mirman is a comedian, actor and hero who lives somewhere in Massachusetts. He voices ‘Gene’ on Fox’s Emmy Award winning animated series Bob’s Burgers. He appeared regularly on HBO’s Flight Of The Conchords, Adult Swim’s Delocated, Archer and a bunch of other TV shows. He’s released several comedy albums and standup specials. Eugene is the co-founder of Pretty Good Friends Records, which puts out wonderful comedy albums and other fantastic things.”

Margarita Fest @ Potawatomi Casino Hotel
FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 8
King Diamond: The Saint Lucifer’s Hospital 1920 + Special Guest Vocals from Myrkur, Overkill, Night Demon @ The Riverside Theater
“King Diamond is quite possibly the most recognizable and prolific personality ever in heavy metal. Revered by icons as big as Metallica and Pantera to inspiring new upstarts like Goatwhore; King Diamond, the man and the band, have left an indelible mark on the history, and now again, the future of heavy metal.”

SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 9
Music Go Round x Volta Records Present: Good Night & Good Morning + Haunter, Apollo Vermouth
@ Cactus Club
“Music Go Round and Volta Records return with another installment of our all ages show series. With a secondary goal of bridging the gap and fostering relationships between Milwaukee and scenes in other midwestern cities, this evening’s lineup focuses on the more expansive and ambient side of things, featuring two beloved locals alongside a midwest act’s first Milwaukee appearance in over a decade.”
Gold Steps + When The Sun Sets, Mighty Vices, Lake Drive @ Anodyne Walker’s Point Roastery
City And Colour + Pedro The Lion (Solo) @ The Pabst Theater
The Dickies + The Queers, Poison Hand @ X-Ray Arcade
Sound Travels: Marcus Doucette + Mosh Wah, JDL @ Mad Planet
SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 10
Cursive + Gladie @ X-Ray Arcade
Fresh off the release of its latest album, Devourer, iconic Omaha emo outfit Cursive comes to the cozy confines of Cudahy’s X-Ray Arcade to play songs off that record and (hopefully) material from various other points of their influential and outstanding 30-year tenure.
Brawl In The Beer Hall @ Lakefront Brewery

Buffalo Galaxy + Soggy Prairie @ Anodyne Walker’s Point Roastery
Tomas Fujiwara / Taylor Ho Bynum Duo @ Sugar Maple
