Things have been relatively quiet in the Surgeons In Heat camp lately. Other than releasing a pair of songs in April 2014, the last big statement from the smooth and sly pop-rockers was their 2012 self-titled LP, which landed at #24 on our list of the 50 best Milwaukee albums of the 2010s (so far). All that will change this year, when the band unveils its second full-length album, Disaster, set for a digital release April 14, and a vinyl release on Top Five Records April 28.

Before those dates arrive, you can get a taste of the hopefully not-literal Disaster in the form of the album’s first single, “You Never Know.” It’s a driving, insistent, and occasionally spaced-out track that should please Surgeon fans, and comes complete with a swooning, dreamy, and extremely spaced-out mid section. Listen to it below, via Bandcamp, and see the group live as part of the Arte Para Todos festival, Sunday, March 1 at the BBC.
