While Wisconsin Space Program is still fairly young, local music aficionados may recognize the up-and-coming Milwaukee psych rock outfit as having former and current members of The Delta Routine, Antler House, NEWSKI, Yum Yum Cult, and Supertentacles in its ranks. Last summer, the project released its first single, “She Rides On,” and chased the song with sporadic live outings in late 2024 and early 2025.
With a great early impression now established, the trio is gearing up for the release its debut album in June. Prior to that June 14 drop (and Linneman’s album release show that same night), Wisconsin Space Program is preparing to blast off by releasing a follow-up single and an accompanying music video. Today, marked the launch of “Sun In Your Hands,” a timeless effort that nods emphatically in the direction of ’60s-era psychedelia with a heaping spoonful of pop appeal mixed in for good measure.
The shimmering and summer-suited single is perfectly matched by its music video, which was shot and edited by drummer Joe Wilinski. Using old slides of his grandmother’s garden projected on the wall (and images of the sun’s surface on his bass drum head) as the band performs the single, Wilinski inserts a noticeable warmth and vibrancy into the song’s visual pairing. Get pulled into Wisconsin Space Program’s orbit by watching/listening to “Sun In Your Hands” now.
