The Milwaukee dining scene was sent reeling this summer when we reported that a Panera Bread was opening on the high-profile corner of North and Oakland avenues, 1800 E. North Ave., on the city’s east side. And not just any Panera, but a fancy Panera To Go, complete with a smaller footprint and a digitized menu. The city’s first!
And now we can reveal the opening date: Tuesday, November 19. That’s tomorrow!
“We are thrilled to be opening the first Panera To Go experience in Milwaukee,” says Area Operation Partner Therese Cruz in a press release. “We are excited to grow our presence in this wonderful community and look forward to delivering the great tasting food and impeccable service our local guests have come to expect from Panera.”
To celebrate the big news, the first 100 guests on opening day (again, Tuesday, November 19) will receive a year’s worth of free bagels and cream cheese. Doors open at 6 a.m.
The new Panera To Go will be open Monday-Saturday, 6 a.m. – 9 p.m.; and Sunday, 7 a.m. – 9 p.m. According to the press release, it will employ 35-40 people.
